Maëlle Lepitre holds a bachelor's degree in history from the University of Paris Sciences et Lettres and a master's degree in Franch-German history from both the EHESS in Paris and the Karl Ruprecht University in Heidelberg. She has been a PhD student at the Friedrich Schiller University of Jena since 2021, focusing on the redesign of the Buchenwald Memorial in the 1990s. Since 2024 she has been a volunteer researcher at the Buchenwald Memorial (Custody 1).

History of National Socialism, Memory Studies, history oft he Buchenwald Memorial.
