Objects Found in Dora

In the image catalogue, a selection of objects from the collection inventory is presented.

Since the mid-1990s, the collection of the Mittelbau-Dora Concentration Camp Memorial has been growing through the addition of relics recovered within the framework of sporadic aboveground searches, archaeological excavations and exposures of areas of the camp. Furthermore, donations and purchases as well as relics confiscated by the police after having been stolen from the tunnels were added to the collection.

The objects recovered from aboveground and underground sites are for the most part material evidence of forced labour and armament production. Also among the finds, however, are simple objects of everyday life in the camp, frequently fashioned by the inmates from material remnants such as hygiene and sanitary articles as well as cutlery or dishes.
