Inmates’ canteen

From 1941 onwards, the SS ran a sales establishment in the camp, the so-called inmates’ canteen, as a means of siphoning the money inmates received from their families. Goods which had been acquired cheaply of produced in the camp were sold there in exchange for the camp currency. Today the rooms are used for the memorial education work as well as special exhibitions and events.
